Interior design provides for the physical and cultural needs and aspirations of people at work and leisure.
The B.S. Interior Design major focuses on developing your creativity, technical skills, and understanding of the built environment. You will learn about various aspects of interior design, such as space planning, color theory, materials and finishes, lighting, furniture design, and sustainable design practices. This program at DAAP emphasizes a balance between aesthetics and functionality, teaching you how to create interiors that are both visually appealing and practical. You will learn how to analyze client needs, develop design concepts, create detailed plans and drawings, select appropriate materials and furnishings, and more.
The imbedded co-op program allowed me to grow and further myself not only as a designer, but also as a person. My last internship at Goodrich in NYC allowed me to flourish and realize that I am in the correct field doing a job that I know I will love.

UC Co-op Program

At the University of Cincinnati, we believe that learning is doing and doing is learning.
All Interior Design students participate in the UC Co-op Program. Students have the opportunity to work full-time in an interior design firm either locally, nationally, or internationally for 5 full semesters during their studies to build their professional experience and resume.
UC Study Abroad
Interior Design students also have the unique opportunity to Study Abroad during their study with an array of international partners.
Study abroad is known for being a "life-changing" experience. Studies have shown there are real and tangible benefits to study abroad, including personal growth, positively academic affects, as well as increased career prospects after graduation.
